Questions you may have:
Is this like doing Yoga in the Water?
Yes and no. I use the Water as an aid for learning the heart and soul of Yoga: mindfulness through breathing and focus. Some of the exercises, postures and movements seem familiar but are unique to my Water Yoga practice.
What can Water Yoga do for me?
Water Yoga has the power to transform your life. How about that! Science is now mapping the brain, showing the benefits of meditation, breathing, and relaxation. But true Yoga practioners have known this from their own experience. They feel it and live it. You can too.
I am afraid of water. I guess I couldn’t do it.
Water Yoga was developed from my work with swim phobia. Yet Water Yoga has nothing to do with swimming. It’s just that Yoga’s mindfulness practice makes learningand overcoming problems easy.
How does it help my stress?
We tend to breathe in patterns that maintain emotional and physical tension. Breathing well creates a totally relaxed state, removing the tension from you mind and body. Water Yoga uses bio-feedback to help you breathe perfectly.
How can it help me in my job?
Stress and tension affects how we deal with people, handle key situations, and judgement. Even the Marines use Eastern techniques to improve performance. Water Yoga practice concentrates your strengths.
Can it help romance?
Would relaxing and being your true self around others help you to enjoy and create more romantic situations? Not only romance but Water Yoga daily practice will result in beneficial diet and sleep patterns.
I practice Yoga. I think I breathe okay.
Up until now all Yogic breathing was subject to the practitioner’s best guess. The water as I use it, gives an absolute measurement of the quality of breathing. Maybe you are breathing okay, maybe not, but you’ll know for sure. And it is maybe the best pratice for breathing strength, flexibility, and efficiency.
I have my own religion; I don’t want a new one.
Yoga is secular, non-religious, though some turn it into a religion. Water Yoga is designed to make you your own guru, guide, drawing upon strengths and knowledge you never knew you had.
